By car
From San Jose:
Drive 33 miles southeastward on Highway 101. Take the exit onto Route 25 and drive 14 more miles to get to Hollister.
From Salinas:
Drive 17 miles going northbound on Highway 101. Take the exit onto Route 156 and head 10 miles east. From there, follow the cut-off leading 3 miles into Hollister.
From Sacramento:
Take Interstate 5 to Route 152 (Pacheco Pass), heading westbound for 29 miles, then Route 156 southward 5 miles, and San Felipe Road southward 3 miles.
From Los Angeles:
to Hollister –
For a scenic route into Hollister, take Interstate 5 to Jayne Avenue (Exit 325) and head 11 miles westward to Route 198 followed by 34 miles west to Route 25, then north on Route 25 for 63 miles to Hollister.
to the Pinnacles –
33 miles after turning from Route 198 onto Route 25 is a turn-off to Route 146 that leads into Pinnacles National Park.
By train and bus
During evening rush hour, Caltrain offers a train from San Francisco and San Jose to Gilroy, where riders can transfer to the Hollister-bound San Benito County Express.
By plane
The nearest commercial airport to San Benito County is Mineta San José International Airport (SJC), which is about 45 minutes away by car. Many visitors also fly in to San Francisco International Airport (SFO) for lower airfare (90 minutes away). Those with access to private, general-aviation aircraft may land at the Hollister Municipal Airport.
