San Benito County has some wonderful tastes to offer our visitors when it comes to food and wine.  No matter what you are looking for in a dining experience you can find it in here.  Casual dining ranges from Japanese at Miyako in Hollister to Mexican at Dona Esther in San Juan Bautista.  Our fine dining includes Italian at Paine’s and amazing courses at The Inn at Tres Pinos in the quaint town of Tres Pinos.  If you want a burger there are so many choices from Johnny’s Bar in downtown Hollister to JJ’s Burgers in downtown San Juan Bautista.  Take a look at the list on our Restaurants page and plan your day of wonderful cuisines.

Our climate and rich soil make San Benito County an ideal place for growing wine grapes. Some vines even date back to the late 1800’s. You can take a day or a weekend to explore our local wines, many of which have won international awards and have been featured in magazines such as Wine Spectator. You can follow the Wine Trail for a day of tasting, or visit just one or two tasting rooms for a relaxing stop on your weekend trip.
